Ovaj papagaj je veoma retka vrsta , i mogu reci najtezi papagaj sa svojih 4. kg. sem sto je težak toliko on je i najglasniji papagaj na svetu i jedini papagaj koji ne leti. . mama papagaj snese tri jaja , posle 30. dana . ima male ptice . 
Živi samo na novom Zelandu i edemicna je vrsta. 
A mogu reci da ovi papagaju zive oko 90. godina . verovali ili ne .
Hrane se vocem il semenkama .
