Afrička cibetka je šarena žćivotinja koja podseca na psa . pruge su na nogama , vratu i repu , a na telu ima crne pege.
Živi u šumskim predelima . Njen dom je Afrika ( Bocvana , Namibija, Južnoafrička Republika )
hrani s zmijama, mungosima , jajima , povrcem ...Mama cibetka nosi beba 60-72 dana nakon toga se premestaju u jastucicima gde su joj oko 18 dana .
Ranije je veoma lovljena zbog svog mirisa (žlezde) koji se koristio za parfeme.
Nocna i mirna zivotinja .

Crno bele je boje , dužina tela do 160.cm . hrani se rakovima , ribama i glavonosima . 
Otkrio ga je francuski prirodnjak Philber Commerson  1767 . god . u vodama ooko Argentine .

Danju se krije u rupama koje kopa dok nocu trazi hranu , kad oseti opasnost samo za nekoliko sekundi se ukopa u zemlju .
